A creative studio is seeking a Client Director to serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, managing key relationships while providing strategic guidance and creative direction. This role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, strong industry knowledge, and proven experience as either an entrepreneur or client lead in an agency or in-house setting.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a small studio environment and has experience working with early-stage companies that are new to marketnot just launching new brands from existing companies.

What You'll Do

Brand Strategy & Research

  • Lead stakeholder and customer interviews
  • Distill brand insights and opportunities
  • Develop brand narratives (manifestos)
  • Define brand positioning
  • Create audience personas and brand personality frameworks
  • Write comprehensive brand strategy documents

Verbal Identity & Messaging

  • Define the voice for brands and develop foundational/core brand messaging
  • Craft compelling copy that brings brand strategy to life
  • Generate business names for naming presentations

End-to-End Campaign Management

  • Concept and write campaign strategies
  • Write scripts for campaign content
  • Manage external vendors, clients, and internal teams
  • Lead on-set production
  • Negotiate licensing and usage agreements
  • Own all project minutiae from concept through execution

Client & Business Leadership

  • Develop deep understanding of client business objectives
  • Lead project teams across design, development, and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and budget requirements
  • Support business development efforts
  • Manage staffing plans with creative leads

Nice-to-Have Responsibilities

  • Website content strategy and technical project management
  • Producing websites (design and build coordination, technical integrations)
  • Writing proposals

Who You Are

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in a leadership position at a creative/design agency with less than 15 people
  • Deep experience with brand strategy, visual identity, and core brand messaging (not just campaign work)
  • Proven track record working with early-stage companies new to market
  • Background in small studios (2-6 people ideal) where you wore multiple hats
  • Experience leading accounts in an agency setting
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand strategy and verbal identity work
